On Location!

One of our favorite ways to personalize an event is to produce a live broadcast from a location that’s important to the organization! Streaming from your location provides an exceptionally authentic environment to support your storytelling. It immerses your virtual guests in your mission and helps them feel like they’re right in the work with you, even when they are watching from home.

Back in October, we worked with ROOTS Young Adult Shelter to build a live broadcast from inside their shelter in Seattle’s University District, where staff and volunteers joined emcee Sasha Summer Cousineau in front of the cameras to share about the impact of their work and raise some funds! Another fun way we brought the location to life for the event guests was naming the social rooms in Zoom after common areas at the shelter. Thanks to our A/V and Livestreaming partner Live Oak Audio Visual for going on this adventure with us.

Boys & Girls Clubs of King County presented their event live with co-hosts Fred Granados and Lauren DuPree, from inside the Joel E. Smilow Clubhouse at their Rainier Vista location. This gave donors a direct view of the places and programs that their dollars are funding. Check out those before and after photos of the stage set we built in the Teen Center! Kudos to AV Factory and Red Element Studios for this beautiful collaboration.

Coyote opened their new Coyote North location in Lake City just as the pandemic lockdown was beginning. This year, we helped them host their annual fundraiser from the Coyote North performance space as a way to share this new location with their community! With teaching artists, staff and students in front of the cameras, and Livestreaming support by Michael B. Maine, it was a truly authentic and unforgettable night. A live art challenge gave their guests the opportunity to experience Coyote’s programs and create together - even if from afar.

As audiences continue to demand more from their virtual experiences, we suggest up-leveling the production with a multiple camera shoot, enhancing it with great graphics and sound, and -- if it is feasible for your org -- producing a livestream from your location to make your event truly stand out. You could even bring in a few special guests to serve as a live studio audience, as a safe and easy step toward a full hybrid production in the future. Let’s chat about how to make your location part of your next event!
