Let’s GO BIG with Visual Design

We’ve had a lot of fun this year helping our clients find the pitch-perfect expression of their event theme and brand. Grand entryways, fun and memorable stage backdrops, stand-out table centerpieces ... Let’s go!

First of all, let’s look at some Large Installations. Designed to be walked-around-and-through, these can serve practical purposes, purely aesthetic, or a blend of the two.

Event guests are mingling and viewing art pieces at a gallery with lights and a banner stating "Live Auction" for Pratt Fine Arts Center.

In this large, open event space, the guests need to stay oriented and find the different sections of auction items. An industrial-style metal truss supported the wayfinding banners and the lighting above the artwork. The simple, practical solution matched Pratt Fine Arts Center’s down-to-earth vibe as a welcoming place to blow glass, forge metal, and build a community of artists.

Strands of glittering beads in 3D with the letters forming the word H E N R Y are displayed as guests enter the venue.

Every year, our client, Henry Art Gallery picks a distinct, abstract theme and asks the event vendors to explore and create something fresh and unexpected! Exploring this gala’s theme “shifting perspectives”, these standing metal frames provided a fun, unexpected path through the event lobby. Strands of glittering beads were installed in 3D to elegantly reveal the word H E N R Y.

Next up: Stage Backdrops. When ask your guests to look in the general direction of one place in the room (the stage) … why not give them something powerful to look at?

A solo male artist is onstage singing while playing an electric guitar while behind him a huge 3D circle display with the words "Love Parks" is seen

Client: Seattle Parks Foundation. Collaborators: Energia Events, Live Oak A/V, with Tomo Nakayama performing onstage. Photographer: Danny Ngan. Venue: Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI).

In a venue as visually stimulating as MOHAI’s main atrium, our challenge was to bring the client’s brand to life in a concise but vibrant package. This was a very fun, custom rendering of the organization’s logo, a strong visual anchor for their ‘Love Parks Gala’.

A woman is singing onstage with 3 different visual displays behind her while the guests are seen in the foreground in round tables.

The challenge for this event was to adequately “fill” a very large room, so that performers and speakers were not lost in the space. The solution? A very very wide stage (about 50’), with space for large custom-printed banners in 8’ square frames, lit from within. The right and left-hand images are aerial photographs of the earth, helping to marry the event’s theme of ‘blazing trails to the future’ with the message brought by the event’s keynote speaker, a former NASA astronaut.

3 band members are onstage performing with different instruments each while behind them a large tropical floral arrangement is displayed.

For this sweet cabaret-style event, the stage backdrop was a custom re-creation of the event logo, with tropical florals bringing texture. A burst of energy for a January event!

For events with a sit-down meal – think about it. Your guests are going to be in that space for at least an hour, and with all that captive time, the Table Centerpieces become a very important element of your event design. You can always place a vase of flowers and call it good … but when we have the chance, we love to help our clients find a fuller expression of their event theme.

Client: Lease Crutcher Lewis Construction. Centerpieces by Synchronicity Events. Venue: The Summit at Seattle Convention Center.

Why have a basic Holiday Party when you could have an Alice in Wonderland-style holiday party? These centerpieces helped us set the whimsical ‘mad hatter’s tea party’ vibe for the dinner tables. At the end of the party, we offered the 50 vintage teapots to the guests to take home as mementos, and all were scooped up immediately!

The theme for this luncheon was ‘rise, thrive, reconnect’ (to mark the group’s first large-scale event after the return from lockdown). The suspended globes holding living air plants provided a simple, elevated illustration of these ideas. At the end of the party, the centerpieces were a take-home gift to Table Captains to continue their feelings of thriving and connection to the event and the organization.

The theme for this event was ‘aglow’! A clear glass cylinder held a column of water and simple fresh branches, lit from below with a light in the base of the vase. The perfect blend of nature and technology, and a gentle, colorful source of light on the dining table too.

Are you ready for an event that is designed with your organization’s values, vision, and outcomes in mind? We can still fill a couple of last-minute openings in March and April 2025. Hit us up on the Contact page and let’s get to know each other.
